Add/Remove Programs Information:
How to safely Add/Remove Programs from your PC!
Windows has a system built into it for uninstalling programs.
You can use this system, called Add/Remove Programs in Windows
95/98/ME/2000 and Add or Remove Programs in Windows XP to remove
programs from your computer.
You can also use this feature to see what programs are installed.
Note that not all the programs installed on your computer will
show up in this list. Check the hard drive on your computer
to get a full idea of what is actually installed. You should
avoid simply deleting folders off of your hard drive because
most programs will install themselves in several areas, so
simply removing the program's folder will not work.
Tips:
Its a good idea to make sure that you don't have other programs
running when you uninstall something to avoid any files that
need to be removed from being in use.
Running Defrag after you uninstall a program helps to keep your
Hard Drive running at its best.
Windows 2000/XP users, if you have problems uninstalling programs,
like File Errors, check that you have the user rights to add
and remove programs. Normally you'll need to be logged in with
Administrator rights.
